Very useful overview

This is a useful overview of second language acquisition research. I suggest checking the table of contents first to be certain that the topic you are interested in is covered. Each chapter includes descriptions of research and references for further reading, including academic papers, books, and compilations of papers published as books. The subject index is particularly useful.
There is a strong emphasis on covering the history of the discipline. I would (very roughly) guess that about 80% of the research described is at least a decade old, and much of it is 20 or 30 years old (even outside the "recent history" chapter).

Good comprehensive review of SLL theories.

Comprehensive review of SLL theories. These are not discussed in-depth, but the bibliographic information to look into them is provided. There's a nice glossary at the end and even though this edition left out, for some reason, the dynamic system theories, I think it's a really good book to have, especially because for most of the theories includes implications in SL teaching.

A great resource for second language learning theories

This book convenes all the theories of second language learning. I had read about these theories in different linguistic courses, but I was able to read them all in one place in this book.
