I have this whole series of books and they have helped me get through Nursing school. They outline everything in neat order without the extra fluff and the questions have rationales for why each answer is right OR wrong. It's all about passing the tests and these books help.

Very good book to have. Especially if you're having problems with "application" type questions on your tests. It comes with a CD too!. also full of questions, math questions as well..
You will actually learn a lot when you read the rationales. It gives you the reason why the answer is right or wrong. However, I was also expecting the book to have a generalized description of the most common drugs, but it doesn't. It is just full of questions, this will help you with your tests while in nursing school.

Why has He been silent when such persecution, slander and suffering have been heaped upon his own people? Is it because they deserved it, or is there another answer?
This book must be read with the heart. It’s a book that tore at my heart, and reduced me to tears. I believe every Christian needs to read this book so we can begin to understand the heart of God for Israel – especially in the days in which we live. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

About the Author
Amy Christine Brown received her PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1986 in the field of Human Nutrition and Foods. She has been a college professor and a registered dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 1986. Dr. Brown currently teaches at the University of Hawaii's John A. Burns School of Medicine in the Department of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Her research interests are in the area of bioactive plant substances beneficial to health and medical nutrition therapy. Some of the studies she has conducted include "Diet and Crohn's disease," "Potentially harmful herbal supplements," "Kava beverage consumption and the effect on liver function tests," and "The effectiveness of kukui nut oil in treating psoriasis." Save money, look for an older edition

I have compared this edition side by side with the 4th edition, and the only update my classmates and I found is the addition of "monk fruit" under alternative sweeteners. Otherwise the paragraphs and charts/graphs are verbatim, with some minimal rearranging. As of now, you can rent the older edition for less than half, so save some money and consider an older edition.

Overall, the book is nothing exciting. All black and white photographs except for a few pages in the centerfold. The text itself is boring and repetitive, but it was required for my course.

Making History Accessible

In this insightful book, Peter J. Beck, an emeritus professor of history in the UK, cites data indicating that both British and American young people woefully lack historical knowledge. The author goes beyond bewailing this state of affairs to asking what historians can do about it. His answer is "presentation, presentation, presentation." Bell thinks history professors should try to turn out books that will attract a wide readership. He also sees television, film, the Internet, and, yes, historical novels, as having a role to play in bringing history to life.

Much of this volume consists of a survey of how in recent years history has been presented to audiences outside academia. Beck looks critically at a number of historical novels, Hollywood films, and television documentaries, as well as the work of university-based historians who write accessible, popular histories. Some of the names mentioned may be more familiar to British than American readers, but he discusses history presenters as diverse, and as widely known, as Philippa Gregory, Thomas Keneally, Niall Ferguson, and Mel Gibson.

Readers will be struck by how seriously Beck takes the role writers of fiction play in transmitting historical knowledge. He accepts the fact that some people learn about the past mainly from fictional works, and devotes a chapter in his book to Philippa Gregory, a historical novelist who is a university-trained historian with a doctoral degree. Beck credits her with refusing to twist facts for the sake of telling a good story. Stories, spiced with sex and romance, of women who manages to survive on their own terms in a patriarchal society, have continuing appeal, and Beck notes how novelists artfully weave in egalitarian themes, as well as a female perspective on the past. Beck's treatment of novels like Gregory's, written primarily by and for women, is respectful and enlightening.

Illiterate author

Book must have been written by the author's 11 year old son with no editing whatsoever. It is ridiculous reading. The book consists of maybe two sentences of the actual theory and the rest fluff as to why this book is so great. It is insane and certainly did not make me want to spend any more money on anything else this person has put together.

About the Author
David Lowenthal is Emeritus Professor of Geography and Honorary Research Fellow at University College London. He is a gold medallist of the Royal Geographical, the Royal Scottish Geographical and the American Geographical Societies, a Fellow of the British Academy and honorary D.Litt. Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2010 he was awarded the Forbes Lecture Prize by the International Institute for Conservation. His books include The Heritage Crusade and the Spoils of History (1996), George Perkins Marsh, Prophet of Conservation (2000) and The Nature of Cultural Heritage and the Culture of National Heritage (2005).

Lowenthal needed a much more severe editor. This tome is smart, stylish and stuffed with interesting and relevant references, but reads as a breathlessly rambling, tediously repetitive accumulation of information rather than a sustained, well wrought argument. I would suggest a 3rd revisitation that overhauls and compresses the outline, edits out the mass of less compelling details, and elaborates the most significant examples in enough depth to truly illustrate his main points. Otherwise, so many of Lowenthal's scholarly tidbits merely evaporate rather than sink in. For a book that runs more than 600 pages, it feels frustratingly superficial.
