Excellent Book!!!

Wow! After waiting *forever* for this next book in the sequel, I devored it in ONE night!! Now how long do I have to wait for the final book?? Ohhhh...the suspense!
This book was excellent! I was completely captivated by Casey and Dillon's plight as they each uncovered incriminating evidence and stumbled into traps and unpredictable danger. It's impossible not to run in their shoes and experience the escalating tension and anxiety as the story unravels...seemingly hopelessly for both of them. But there is hope and redemption woven throughout like a lifeline. It's a riveting suspense book! It also gives us a raw, poignant look into the wounded hearts of those who have been traumatized and are fighting hard to not give up. I fought right alongside of them!
This book can be easily read as a standalone book, but I'd recommend reading If I Run first. I can't wait until the final episode comes out! These are *wonderful* books that I highly recommend!

Breathe

I read the last page and shook my tablet. I scared the cat sleeping on my feet with my sudden gasp of realization that the book was over... then, in agony I read the release date for "If I Live". March 2018. I stopped breathing. How could that happen!? I can't possibly WAIT! WAIT A YEAR!?!
The characters are real with honest issues. I love to see and hear their struggles with simplicity. There's no need to go into deep clinical detail. As a counseling intern I really appreciated the interaction between Dylan and Dr. Coggins. I want to buy a box of these and pass them out. Between the action and gut level honest pain is story at its best. This is another example of why I believe Terri Blackstock is an all-time top writer, not just in the world of Christian fiction. Now someone make the movie...!
For further information, Dr. R. Timothy Kearney has written Caring for Sexually Abused Children. I didn't say if you want it because no one does!

Excellent Sequel!

Casey Cox is still on the run. On the run from a murder charge for which she is completely innocent, Casey continues to use her instincts and ingenuity to out maneuver the corrupt detectives who are pursuing her. Casey knows that her time and money will eventually run out, so she changes cars, locations and identities once again. They almost had her, had it not been for the private investigator who seems to believe her story. The man who let her go.
Dylan Roberts' longtime friend is dead, consequently he was hired by the Pace family to find Brent's killer. He just never expected the assignment to involve a ring of criminal secrets spanning years of extortion within his local police department. The information that Casey Cox reluctantly sent him was viable, just not strong enough to be considered evidence in a court of law. They need more time and more concrete facts to cut off the heads of the serpents who have framed her for murder. Casey has disappeared off the radar again. Will he find her in time?
Could Terri Blackstock possibly fashion a sequel that would rival the first book in this series, you might ask? Absolutely! Her characters continue to develop, the story line increases in intensity, and the emotional connection between Casey and Dylan becomes a precious commodity, as Casey tentatively opens her heart to the way, the truth and the life. What a great story, with an end in sight.
